“To be prepared against surprise is to be trained. To be prepared for surprise is to be educated.” – James P. Carse, Finite and Infinite Games
This movement class will be a playful exploration. There will be more questions than answers, and more suggestions than instructions. Play welcomes risk-taking, and facilitates the possibility of surprise and discovery; elements that feed our intelligence and creative potential. We will utilize tools such as coordination, rhythm, imagination, physical problem solving, and technique during our trek up the mountain of human potential.

Kyle grew up in Lake Tahoe where he realized his passion for teaching as a ski instructor. He studied theater at UCLA, where he could be found regularly in Vaudeville class. In 2005 he left college and moved to New York to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. After almost 10 years of chasing laughs, he realized his passion for movement and decided to leave the yucks behind to follow this new path.
He studied online with Ido Portal from 2015-2020 and attended Movement Camp from 2016-2019. He is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Marcelo Garcia. Currently, he is receiving online education from Tom Weksler, while independently researching different movement tools, approaches, and methodologies. He travels the world attending movement workshops and seminars to continue his education and bring diverse perspectives to his students.
In 2017 Kyle and his wife, Alexa, opened a dedicated movement facility in Brooklyn, New York; Movement Brooklyn. After being forced to close the studio due to Covid-19, all education and resources were moved to their virtual platform, Movement Brooklyn Online. MBO has 100+ hours of classes and content, and it is a place for conversation, community, and curiosity. Kyle teaches weekly classes and holds office hours on the platform. And, he hosts Behind the Movement, a podcast where he speaks with different movement practitioners to discuss their journeys, philosophies, and insight.
