Breath of the Week: The Space Between with Emily Blackwell

This week’s Breath of the Week is a slow, thoughtful session from EmilyBlack titled The Space in Between, an exploration of how we can use breath to drop into the pause, the soft void between the inhale and the exhale, the old and the new, the known and the unknown.

This practice is an invitation to pause not only in breath, but in life to listen, to soften, and to respond with intention rather than react from habit.


What You’ll Experience:

  • Nose and mouth breathing with intentional cadence
  • Built-in breath holds of increasing length (30, 45, 60 seconds)
  • A playful yet mindful approach to pausing called “pause roulette”
  • A guided journey through five key moments of breath awareness:
    1. Beginning of the inhale
    2. Duration of the inhale
    3. Beginning of the exhale
    4. Duration of the exhale
    5. The pause before the next breath
