Breathwork Intensive: A Group Mentorship in Self-Discovery Through Breath Play

6-Week Live Online Course | Starts June 25, 2025

Join an intimate group of curious humans to explore the science, sensation, and soul of your breath, and reconnect with the part of you that knows how to listen, feel, and play. You’ll learn by doing, uncover how your breath reflects your nervous system, and develop a personal practice that meets you where you are.

Student sitting in breath awareness

A new kind of breathwork experience.

Understand the science of breathing and develop a deeper, more personal relationship with your breath.

This isn’t a facilitator training or a one-size-fits-all method.

It’s a live, 6-week course designed for individuals who want to better understand their own breath, and ultimately, themselves.

You’ll explore foundational breathing principles through a blend of education, embodied practice, and reflection. You’ll learn how your breath mirrors your state, and how to work with it to create clarity, presence, and real-life change.

You’ll leave with confidence in how to use your breath in a way that supports your body, your nervous system, and your personal rhythm.

"I used to think breathwork had to look a certain way."

What makes this different?

It’s where breath becomes not just something you do, but something you understand. There is no one right way to breathe. There is only the breath you have right now and what it might be showing you.

Principles over protocols. We focus on foundational understanding, not fixed techniques. By learning how breath functions on a mechanical and physiological level, you’ll have the freedom to adapt it to your needs in real time.

Science, embodiment, and curiosity. We blend research-backed education with direct experience. Every week you’ll embody the concepts, not just understand them intellectually.

Nervous system awareness instead of intensity. This isn’t about pushing harder or going deeper just for the sake of it. You’ll learn to recognize your nervous system state and choose breath tools that support regulation and resilience.

Breath "play" over breath "work." We invite exploration, not perfection. This is a space to try things on, be surprised, and rediscover the joy of connecting with your breath.

Your breath doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs your presence. We create space for exploration, not judgment, and invite you to meet yourself with curiosity. This is a space to try things on, be surprised, and rediscover the joy of connecting with your breath.

Who This Course Is For

This course is designed for individuals who wish to gain a deeper understanding of themselves through the lens of their breath.

You might be here because…

  • You’ve felt the power of breath but want to know what’s actually happening.

  • You’re curious about how breath reflects your patterns, stress, and nervous system state.

  • You’re a coach, teacher, or helper who wants to integrate breath without relying on rigid methods.

  • You’re tired of doing breathwork “right” and want to explore what’s right for you.

  • You’re looking for a more embodied, personal, and sustainable breath practice.

Whether you’re just beginning or refining what you already know, all are welcome here.

What You Will Learn

We believe you learn by doing first and then understanding. This is an inside-out approach, beginning with direct experience, then layering in context so you can make sense of your breath in a way that’s meaningful to you.

You’ll explore:

  • How your breath reflects your state (and vice versa)
  • What air hunger really is, and why it matters
  • How your breathing mechanics shape your nervous system
  • How to work with your breath to meet real-life stress
  • Why minimum effective dose is more powerful than pushing

Each week blends education with guided breath play, reflection, and integration.

When you understand your breath, you begin to trust your body and the wisdom it holds.

The Weekly Flow

Week 1

Breath Awareness & Behavior Mapping

Begin with curiosity. Explore how you breathe and what it reveals about your nervous system, energy, and patterns of stress and control.

  • Reorient to the breath: from autopilot to attention

  • Breath behavior as feedback, not a flaw

  • Establish a baseline using our breath behavior mapping tool

  • Introduce the concept of “breathprint” as your unique starting point

Week 3

Breath Mechanics & Embodied Awareness

Feel how your breath moves, then create space for more. Learn how tension, restriction, and posture affect your breath and your perception.

  • Reconnect to the body through interoception and movement

  • Breath as movement: anatomy, restriction, and release

  • Manual openers and positional work to invite deeper awareness

  • Embodying breath from the inside out, not just technique

Week 5

Breath in Daily Life

Integration isn’t a practice. It’s a way of being. Learn how to apply breath tools throughout your day, especially when stress, emotion, or uncertainty hits.

  • Breathing through transitions, conflict, and emotional load

  • How to create rituals of regulation—not just routines

  • Building patterns that are sustainable in real life, not just on the mat

  • Repatterning from survival breath to supported breath

Week 2

Physiology & Breath Chemistry

Build a deeper relationship with breath from the inside out. Understand how oxygen, carbon dioxide, and air hunger shape your experience and influence your state.

  • Air hunger as a felt signal of your CO₂ tolerance

  • Reframing breathlessness: learning to trust the urge, not fear it

  • The role of CO₂ in nervous system regulation and O₂ delivery

  • The myth of “more oxygen” = better breathing

Week 4

Nervous System Literacy

Understand the state you’re in, and what your breath can do about it.
Learn how to recognize sympathetic, dorsal, and ventral states and choose breath tools that support regulation without overwhelm.

  • Polyvagal-informed breathing and state awareness

  • “Meet yourself where you are” and minimum effective dose

  • Why intensity isn’t always better (and can sometimes backfire)

  • Breath as a real-time tool for self-regulation and restoration

Week 6

Integration & Personal Practice

There is no one right way to breathe. There’s only what works for you. This final week is a space to reflect, synthesize, and define what you want your relationship with breath to be moving forward.

  • Extended guided session + integration

  • Connect the dots between your nervous system, mechanics, and awareness

  • Anchor what you’ve learned into a personal breath practice

  • Define what “breath support” looks like for your life

Meet Your Guide

Reis Paluso is a certified Breathing Behavior Analyst, educator, and guide who helps individuals reconnect with themselves through the power of the breath. A devoted father and entrepreneur, Reis began his breath journey through the Wim Hof Method before immersing himself in a wide range of scientific and embodied approaches.

Today, he no longer follows a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, he teaches principles, grounding his work in nervous system literacy, functional breath mechanics, and personalized exploration.

He works with organizations such as the San Diego Padres, Vuori, and Lululemon, as well as private clients, including Olympic athletes and military personnel.

Whether he’s guiding a group session or mentoring one-on-one, Reis helps people build a sustainable, intuitive breath practice that supports who they are and how they want to live.
